Sudan – A New Nation of Opportunity
A Letter from Ps.Pam Devenish (The Highway Church, Beechboro,WA), to Ps.Frank Mitchell, Dated Feb’2009
Pastor James Samuel has a deep burden to see the people of Southern Sudan won to Christ. His long-term vision is to set up a Training Centre in Juba which is the main city of Southern Sudan. The Centre will train, equip, and release workers to plant churches in the villages. The Training Centre will also provide training for workers in the wider church community in Juba.
Because the Training Centre must be self sustaining as soon as possible, it is anticipated that it will raise funds by the provision of:
- English lessons for the general public;
- a small café;
- a bus for use as a taxi/transport service for locals.
The project also aims, in time, to operate an orphanage and a medical clinic.
Pastor James has recently visited Sudan and has established that his cousin/brother, Pastor Henry, is prepared and equipped to be the local Sudanese contact person and local advisor.
In April, Ps James and Ps Pam Devenish will visit Juba to progress the project. It is proposed that they will conduct meetings with government and church leaders; hold a three-da7y Leadership Training course, and also an evangelistic crusade.
Upon their return to Perth, they will report to the appropriate stakeholders, and then continue with fund-raising and awareness programs here in preparation for our ongoing involvement with the work in Sudan.

Can you please advise me, are you going to buy a new land and build a new project, or do you already have the land?
Are you going to start a new orphanage and a clinic? or do you have them, and you need to establish only the training center?
