Missions Report Jan’09

THERE ARE EXCITING DEVELOPMENTS IN FOURSQUARE WA MISSIONS!
Over the past six to twelve months, there have been positive moves towards closer co-operation between Foursquare in the Eastern States and Foursquare WA, and this is being wonderfully implemented in the area of Missions!
Don Phillips from Calvary Assembly in Bunbury has just returned from PNG where he spent 10 days working alongside a team of builders and medical personnel from Foursquare in the East. He reports a wonderful spirit of unity, co-operation and mutual servanthood, and is VERY excited about all the Lord is doing in PNG, the fruit of many years of sacrificial investment of lives and resources.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity … for there the LORD commanded the blessing-Life forevermore.(Psa.133 : 1, 3)

CAMBODIA
Several doors of opportunity to minister in what is perhaps the poorest of South-East Asian nations, Cambodia, have opened to us. At least two of our churches, The White House and Calvary Assembly, are helping to show the love of Jesus through various ongoing practical acts of compassion.
One lady and her one-week-old baby were all but blinded by acid thrown in their faces by her husband’s rival lover, but through her trauma, she has found Jesus, and in Him, hope, purpose and provision-praise God!

INDONESIA
Two couples from Northside, the Churlews and the Watkins, were recently in Java Indonesia meeting with Gereja Gideon leaders, pastors and wives, encouraging, instructing and guiding them in a series of leadership meetings in Solo.
Northside Church has spearheaded this initiative together with a contribution of $3,000 from District Missions Funds. We hope to have a more detailed report of this trip posted soon on the website.
Foursquare Missions WA is also sponsoring a number of Gereja Gideon pastors and workers in Indonesia who are undertaking Bible College studies, at a cost of about $12,000 in this financial year (08-09). Please be praying for these workers whose lives placed in the Lord’s hands, represent huge potential for the advance of the Kingdom in Indonesia, our closest neighbor!
Another parable He spoke to them: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.” (Matthew 13 : 33)

MALAYSIA
Don & Angie Boots have been very warmly received in Malaysia, and their short-stay ministry visits are very highly acclaimed by the leadership of the Malaysian Church. Their assignments include intensive sessions teaching Bible College students comprising pastors, disciples and leaders.
What a privilege to come alongside and help the Malaysian Church at this time of exponential growth. Your prayers and contributions to Foursquare Missions are what enables this wonderful opportunity to be exploited.
Don & Angie have an increasing number of open invitations to minister in short-term assignments right across Asia including Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand and the Solomon Islands.
Foursquare WA’s estimated investment in their work this year will be around$19,000.
I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.  (John 9 : 4)

MYANMAR
Jeff & Margaret Fullelove from Northside are motivated by a strong burden for the people of Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) and have established a not-for-profit charity called ‘Pink Jade’ to facilitate the raising of funds to help support orphanages and assist in alleviating the suffering being experienced at present by many in that country.
In the last Financial Year, we sent $6,550 from Foursquare WA to assist the people of Myanmar who had suffered loss during Cyclone Nargis, and to help with urgent surgery for Phillip Ahone. Please continue to pray for Phillip and his wife, the people, and the other workers in Myanmar.

THAILAND
A nation in political turmoil at this present time, yet so open to the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Frank & Meryl Whitmore had to return home for a short stay due to a family health crisis, but have now returned to complete the challenge of setting up a system of Theological Training for pastors and workers, to meet Government requirements. So far they have made huge progress towards completing their assignment. They value your prayers as they labour there!
Foursquare WA also sponsors a number of Bible College students at a commitment this year of about $14,000

ECFC
About 10 delegates from WA were blessed by the outstanding ministry in October.
Start making plans now to attend the next ECFC in 2010 in the Philippines!
